Chief Executive of the Design and Artist’s Copyright Society Gilane Tawadros spoke to Tom Swarbrick on his LBC radio show about The Smart Fund campaign.
Tawadros said: ‘We’ve had organisations like DACS, like BECS and PRS Music, whose job it has been for decades to collect royalties and distribute these to individual creators, and make sure that money goes to the right people…the levy is not a tax, and technology makers have already agreed to support the creative industries in this way in 44 countries around the world, and they do so with transparency and accountability.’
